We’ve known Chris for a little over a year now and since we’ve known him we’ve had the privilege of tasting all his delicious bbq! The man doesn’t mess around when it comes to his smoking. He’s very meticulous with his bbq and doesn’t cut any corners. He makes sure he has the right cuts of meat with the right amounts of fat, he picks out the best cuts of wood, his smoker has to emit the right type of smoke “clean smoke”, all his food has to have the right seasonings, along with all the other things that go in to making sure everything is perfect! Amazing food, fresh from the grill i had gotten a platter for my family which came with an assortment of amazing tendered smoked meats as well as some stuffed peopers and assorted vegetables. I generally try to eat more vegetarian, but when Chris’s BBQ is available I can’t resist. I’ve been enjoying his cooking since this summer and it has all been delicious. Brisket, chicken, sausage, ribs, pulled pork, tri-tip – I’ve had it all. And if you can try the Devil Fingers and Shrumions – do it! He also has a homemade mustard that should be bottled and sold in Costco sized containers. Chris himself is a genuinely nice guy; and you can tell he really takes pride in his food. Snoozle Q’s BBQ is a hidden gem that will instantaneously become your favorite. They are in my opinion, so much better than any other BBQ; Chris instills the highest level of detail into his food to produce something unforgettable.

Let me give you an example: trying their ribs for the first time was like tasting a fine wine.

Picture yourself as you take your first bite, and a complexity of flavors that blend together harmoniously rush through your mouth. Just like a wine, where you can pick up on notes/hints of subtle flavors, so do the ribs produce a similar curiosity and intrigue as you taste. It is such an art form. All you can do is simply grin the largest grin your face is capable of, and enjoy the moment. Each bite, another opportunity to relish the joy of so much care and professionalism being poured into your meal. Chris even took the time to explain and show how deep the smoke rings from his industrial-grade smoker went into the ribs for added authenticity. My family was truly impressed.

And the greatest test of all? Our family runs a daycare, and my little 5-year-old couldn’t help lick his fingers after demolishing one of the ribs. If you want the most pure and honest review, you should ask him. He couldn’t stop asking for more!

Father's Day BBQ Smoked Magic

Chris catered BBQ for our Father’s Day. What a treat to give my husband and father-in-law a break from the grill. Chris created a perfect menu of, fall off the bone, pork ribs, maple sausages, mushroom and onions and smoked bacon-wrapped jalapeño peppers. Everything was smoked perfect.

Since then we have had the pleasure of enjoying almost every item on Chris’s menu—even the turkey neck butter bean soup, which is true southern comfort!

Our favorite dishes are the beef brisket and the Dino beef ribs (they are giant!) The smoke on the meat is perfect. Every bite is juicy and melts in your mouth!

Looking forward to future Snoozle Q events and your continued success in bringing great bbq to the Livermore Valley.

I am the owner of MR BEEs Repair and Maintenance LLC.

I had the privilege of meeting Chris when he reached out to me to complete some handyman projects. Chris let me he had purchased a custom built smoker and was going to start his new BBQ business. I was in the restaurant industry for over 31 years working my way up as a Senior Director of Operations overseeing 27 restaurants. So I definitely know about critiquing food when served to me.

Chris doesn’t cut corners when it comes to smoking his meats, unlike other smokeries who uses the lazy man’s “set it and forget it” style, electric and/or gas smokers. NOT CHRIS! He meticulously hand cuts his all the logs he uses for his wood fire and natural smoke flavors. Cuts and trims the meats. He stay up all night to monitor the fire, spritz the meats with apple cider.

Chris’ food has continuously blown me away with the amazing flavors as well as the creativity in his food. His smoked brisket, beef and pork ribs, and pork chops are phenomenal. When I mentioned creativity, his side dishes are mind blowing and very crave able wanting you to come back for more. For example he makes smoked bacon beans. Smoked cheesy bacon wrapped pickles. I recently tried his smoked turkey neck butter bean stew which may sound unusual, but WOW! It is full of flavors, very hardy and very low in fat. I’m not a fan of onions but Chris’s Shrumions are cooked to perfection where the onions are caramelized and the mushrooms delicately tender with a array of flavors infused in them.

I was in need of some beef ribs, because not many places make it. Got into contact with Chris and he made the best beef ribs I have ever had. If you think you had the best beef ribs in the bay area, brush your teeth because your taste is off. Chris is the beef rib KING. He also whipped up these bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers that he calls “the devils fingers.” FIRE!

It was really good. I also had these basil sausage hot dogs that he had with this own honey mustard sauce mixed with horse radish and some other stuff. I HATE horse radish, but when i had that sauce, I was like “Honey, I’m home! I’m ready to grub.” Also, he makes cheesy grits that’s really damn good. Not many places are making grits. I live in Pleasanton and Chris catered at my niece’s bridal shower last June. We had brisket, chicken, sausage, bacon-wrapped jalapeños, shrummions and pickles. Everything was so delicious and my guests loved it! There was plenty of food for 20 people and some leftovers for guests to take home. I was very satisfied with his service. Brisket is my all time favorite. It’s seasoned to perfection, tender and juicy. My children love the sausages. Chris’s meat bbq and sides taste so much better than any I’ve had so I haven’t bought from my usual bbq places since.

After that event, Chris would call me every time he barbecues so I’ve tried other meats and sides too. You can’t go wrong with any type of meat. If I have to think of any least favorite of mine, it would be the spicy butter beans only because I don’t like spicy bean soup. I can only say that I love Chris’BBQ and highly recommend it. Can't beat the ribs!

Chris brings good old-fashioned barbeque to the Bay Area! His attention to detail and love for the craft really shines through and is evident in the food: from the perfectly charred crusts to the smoke rings and beyond. I haven’t tried everything but can’t beat the ribs or brisket! Can’t go wrong though, really, and the service is top-notch too!
